Do you have a mold problem in your Southwestern Pennsylvania home or business?

Mold is a type of fungus that naturally occurs almost everywhere. It can be black, white, green, orange or purple in color. Mold is found both indoors and outdoors. Mold thrives in moist warm environments and reproduce via spores that are microscopic and travel through the air. In small quantities spores are usually harmless. When these spores land in an area of your home or business that is damp they begin to grow in as little as 48 hours. Active colonies of mold in your home or business increase the number of spores you are exposed to and may cause health problems when inhaled.
Mold remediation of your home or business reduces the spore count in the air back to its normal level. Many restoration companies try to guarantee the removal of all mold and spores. These guarantees are misleading and false to customers. Even if a company could remove all the mold spores from a structure, when a door, window, or vent was open the outside air would bring more spores inside. Consumers should be wary of companies with such guarantees.
The source of water or moisture needs to be addressed before remediation begins. If you do not remove the water the mold may return. Indoor humidity should be kept below 45 percent to help prevent mold growth.
Mold in a structure may be visible or may be detected by a strong musty odor.
